Man-day rates
I don't sell man-days. I sell architectural decisions that mean the software won't need rewriting in five years.
This pricing is aimed at companies that need an experienced software architect, technical consultant, or senior developer for systems built to last.
Three man-day rates (one MD = one working day, i.e. 8 hours) depending on what the work requires — from implementation to responsibility for the architecture. Any given engagement is always a mix of these rates based on the work actually performed.
Standard rate
The standard rate for the vast majority of the work performed.
Advanced work
Work that isn't just about writing code, but the decisions that surround it.
Responsibility for the whole
The decisions that determine whether, in ten years, you're rewriting the system from scratch or it's still running.
Rates exclude VAT; billing is based on man-days actually worked. A given engagement usually combines several rates — e.g. an architectural design at CZK 15,000/MD and its implementation at CZK 5,000/MD. The scope and mix of rates is always agreed in advance, based on the complexity and risk of the specific project.
Bonus for companies with 25+ employees
If your company has more than 25 employees, you can use part of your mandatory levy to fund development or architectural oversight of your software — I am a registered provider of alternative performance (náhradní plnění) under § 81 of Act No. 435/2004 Coll. (the Czech Employment Act).
